Cold Weather Disconnection* Wake Electric will not disconnect electric service December 15 to March 15, if there is a person 65 years or older or a disabled person living in your household. To participate in this program you must establish all of the following in advance:
The Cooperative may continue to charge interest on accounts that are subject to this provision. Important: The member must provide advance notification and certification of meeting the requirements for special handling of accounts. Life Support* For people who depend on life support equipment in their homes, temporary power outages could be a life-threatening situation. A member may be placed on Priority Service by having a medical doctor state the situation in a letter to Wake Electric. In the event of a major outage, members on life support should make alternative arrangements for power. * Information must be updated annually.
